Hi guys!
Finally I am sharing the kitchen!! I have shared a lot on Instagram but wanted to put everything here too with links and who helped us complete this room. [all the links are at the bottom of this blog post] Initially I was trying to save the cabinets that were there but then we ended up getting all new cabinets and even a new hood and selling the old one. I was so impressed by Adam (our cabinet guys) work- even the bottom of the cabinets have a panel when its normally just wood! I 1000% would recommend him if you're in the Chicago suburbs!
For paint on the cabinets we did Benjamin Moore White Dove, and for all the walls, ceilings and baseboards (yes in the whole house) we did Pure White by Sherwin Williams. For sheen on walls: satin, on ceilings: flat, on baseboards: semi gloss.
Our barstools are from Rove Concepts and we got the Aubrey counter stool leather Monaco White with natural legs. Totally worth singing up for their membership and then you can always cancel it. All links for items are at the end of this blog post.
For some of the outlets I know I wanted USB ports so I got this and then I did a smart outlet on the left of the stove so if I had a crock pot running, I could turn it off from work. And since we're talking about outlets, these are the ones I did for the whole house with screwless plates. Light switches, gang plates, gcfi, recessed lighting. And probably my favorite thing we installed in the major rooms was a wifi enabled dimmer! So when I'm laying in bed I can turn off the lights from bed. It's life changing.
For our backsplash we did 1/18 grout lines because I wanted them really tight together and used white unsanded grout from Tile Shop.
My friend Christina who just opened up her own interior design business helped me with the floating shelf decor- we found it all at TJ Maxx, Home Goods, and a local consignment store for the books for $2 a piece! A steal!
For our blinds, we chose Select Blinds and did the lifestyle room darkening motorized blinds. It's amazing because I did it in every room and it's set on a timer to all go down at sunset and I can schedule them all to go up at the same time in the morning. I'm obsessed! I did the color Blanc and we did the outside mount, and the fabric fascia.

Are you countertops matte or polished?
LOVE LOVE LOVE your kitchen. Exactly what I have been searching for ideas for my makeover kitchen. Tiles look white in some photos yet in others they look gray. What color are your tiles?
did You use a jolly edge trim (aluminim) for the tile on the open/exposed part? or what did you use?
Gorgeous kitchen! can I ask what sheen you went with for the white dove on your cabinets?
Such a beautiful kitchen! are your floors real hardwood (white oak?)? If so, what stain did you use on them?
