Backyard Landscaping

Hi guys!

The backyard was initially part of my stress when purchasing our house. I knew I had so much landscaping to figure out and it freaked me out haha. But this year I truly got a lay of the land and realized what will make my life easier (drip irrigation for example) and what plants will be easiest to maintain and live more than just one year.

PS just how good will this all look once we paint our brick white on the house!? I cannot wait!!

Landscaping: (ps everything I planted were perennials aka last forever I hope) We ordered our plants from Planting Tree and they shipped to us in mid April. It was such an amazing experience to get plants shipped to you!!! Only want to do this now in the future. No dirty cars!

We chose to do boxwoods on the back of the house instead of by the hydrangea near the tree. It ended up being a smart move because it was cheap to add sod there instead ($120) and then move the boxwoods to the back of the house. I was honestly sick of the dogs getting into the mulch all the time so I feel that the boxwoods will keep them out once they're all grown and then sod by the other area was the best choice too.

I bought a couple more hydrangeas for the back of the house and planted more peonies as well. Cannot wait for it to all be grown in!

By the trellis by the pool I added two climbing hydrangea vines that take a year or two to get really going. I'm sooo excited to see that trellis covered with white hydrangeas! Also planted a banana tree which I've watched YouTube videos of people keeping them coming back each year in Ohio so I hope I can do the same!

I will not mulch until June next time though- so many tree petals falling down and ruined it ha.

Drip irrigation: I want to do a separate post on this because it saved my life.
