Miami was amazing! (scroll down for all the pics and the vlog!) We went initially for the pool parties going on during Ultra (Colin loves house and techno music (Carl Cox, Loco Dice, Richie Hawtin to be exact) and so do I, well I like more mainstream..) but it was a blast. Lots of younger kids around though during that time so if you prefer to go during a more relaxed weekend there, I'd recommend it. It was about 70-75 during our time there and we thought it'd be chilly but the sun was so warm so it wasn't bad at all. The nights were chillier though so I should have brought more jackets like this for nighttime!
Friday: We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and it was about a 60 minute uber ride to our hotel because of traffic. (way cheaper to fly into Lauderdale by the way and the uber (pool) was only $35) We stayed at the Richmond Hotel because it was the most decent price during Ultra weekend and the pool was still nice! We walked to Pinocchio Cafe and I had the shrimp salad- would totally recommend that. Then we walked back to our hotel (after stopping by the Versace Mansion for a pic) and the pool party we went to was pretty much next door to our hotel so it was perfect. We got a drink at our hotel and then headed over. We stayed there pretty much all day and night. I had a drunken cheeseburger and almost had 2 of them.. That night we had 11pm reservations at Tapas Y Tintos on Espanola Way which is this cute European looking street with all these cute outdoor terraces- I'm surprised I stayed up to go. We had patatas bravas and it took me back to Spain so bad!
Saturday: We woke up and headed to La Taquiza for tacos and the amazing chips we heard about. It was worth the hype and was very yummy. The chips were crunchy yet soft, I don't know how they did that! We then honestly walked around Collins Ave which is the main road there (I think) at least we stayed on it a long time. Went to the beach for a little, headed to The Clevander for a drink, then headed to FKU Sushi across the street from our hotel. It was SO good but I'm a sucker for sushi. The crab rangoon there was to die for too. We then changed at the hotel and got last bit of sun and then headed to dinner at Spiga. I ate too much sushi so I can't say much about the food there unfortunately but Colin loved his Clam Linguine.
Sunday: We got breakfast at Social Club and headed home! The breakfast sandwich and the eggs benedict are popular there by the way.
PS We didn't make it to Wynwood Walls but that is where all the cool graffiti is and a great place for some instagram pics :) It's just across the bridge but we didn't have much time there to go.
